Precision Automotive Component Branding
Wired By Wilson required high-precision marking for a series of custom-fabricated automotive panels. The project involved transforming hand-drawn sketches and physical measurements into permanent, industrial-grade markings. These panels were destined for high-end classic car interiors, requiring a finish that was both aesthetically pleasing and durable enough for automotive use.
This project began with a significant digital preparation phase. The client provided physical templates with pencil-drawn icons and specific measurements, which our team meticulously digitised and recreated in our digital software to ensure absolute geometrical accuracy.
We used two distinct laser processes depending on the material finish:
Bare Aluminium: We applied a special chemical compound to the surface. The laser beam then fused this compound to the metal, creating permanent, jet-black icons and crosshairs.
Anodised Aluminium: For the treated panels, we used the laser to precisely remove the anodised layer. This revealed the natural silver of the aluminium underneath, resulting in a crisp, high-contrast finish.
The final products allowed the client to transition from plain metal components to high-value, customised automotive parts ready for installation.
