PLASTAZOTE®

Plastazote® Foam is a versatile wonder. It is a closed cell polyethylene foam blown with nitrogen; it’s lightweight, tough and flexible. The foam boasts exceptional cushioning properties, providing shock absorption and impact resistance. Once squashed and compressed, each nitrogen filled cell acts like a balloon and the foam bounces back to its original shape.

Zotefoam Plastazote®:

  • Can be easily shaped, cut and bonded to other materials.

  • Non-toxic, odourless, will not absorb water and is buoyant.

  • Can be washed, disinfected and wiped clean.

  • Excellent chemical resistance to most oils, solvents, acids and alkalis.

  • Weatherproof and has good ultraviolet stability.

  • Durable, tough and flexible and recovers repeatedly from impacts.

  • Very good thermal insulator.

  • This grade of Plastazote® foam is not fire retardant.

  • Available in various thicknesses.

POLYETHYLENE FOAM

Polyethylene Foam (PE Foam), also known as closed-cell foam, is a remarkably robust and chemically cross-linked material. This incredibly versatile foam finds applications in a broad spectrum of uses. The potential uses for this foam are virtually limitless, making it an excellent choice for industrial, professional, and personal needs.

This foam is composed of closed cells that remain sealed from one another. This unique characteristic imparts superior hardness, firmness, and durability when compared to open-cell foams. In addition to its resistance to liquids, PE foam serves as an efficient shock absorber, provides effective thermal insulation, and excels at sealing gaps. Its inherent characteristics make it a preferred choice for applications requiring less elasticity and greater rigidity.

Polyethylene foam is:

  • Resistant to chemicals and grease.

  • Water resistant.

  • Non-toxic, odourless, will not absorb water and is buoyant.

  • Impervious to mildew, rot and bacteria.

  • Lightweight and flexible.

  • Wear and tear resistant.

  • Durable, tough and flexible and recovers repeatedly from impacts.

  • Very good thermal insulator.

  • Temperature resistant between -60c and 90c.

  • Available in various thicknesses.

  • This grade of closed cell foam is not fire retardant.

  • Colours: black, white.

Applications: shock absorbing, packaging, buoyancy aids, thermal insulation, kneeling pads, acoustic sound proofing, etc.

Polyethylene Foam

ETHAFOAM (STRATOCELL)

Ethafoam stands as a semi-rigid packaging foam, characterised by its medium density and non-cross-linked structure, derived from expanded polyethylene. Typically originating as blocks or planks, it is then tailored to specific dimensions.

This remarkably versatile material enjoys widespread popularity in various packaging applications, thanks to its lightweight and pliable nature. It offers exceptional cushioned protection against persistent shocks across a diverse range of scenarios, all while maintaining a clean and non-abrasive profile.

At first glance, Ethafoam might bear a resemblance to polystyrene foam, leading to occasional confusion. However, it is essential to recognize that Ethafoam differs significantly in physical density, chemical composition, and inherent characteristics from its polystyrene counterpart. Consequently, it should not be interchangeably substituted without careful consideration.

Ethafoam is:

  • Resistant to water & moisture.

  • Excellent strength.

  • Shock & vibration-absorbing.

  • Resilient and lightweight.

  • Superb resistance to chemicals.

  • High load-bearing.

  • Impervious to mildew, rot and bacteria.

  • Good insulating properties.

  • Environmentally friendly, recyclable and reusable.

  • This grade is not fire retardant.

  • Available in various thicknesses.

  • Colours: White.

Applications: Historic items and collectables, camera case inserts, gift box and presentation inserts, shipping and container cases, etc.
